    How our service works

    1. 1

Book an appointment with your local advisor. It’s really quick and easy to do, plus it won’t cost a penny and there’s never any pressure to buy.

    2. 2

Appointment day. We’ll visit you at home to show you our range and help you decide what’s right for your window, measure up and give you a quote.

    3. 3

We’ll take care of the fitting. Once your curtains are made we’ll be back to hang and steam them. And if you order a pole or track we’ll fit this too.

    Understanding the different header options

Headers can transform the overall appearance of your curtains. Your advisor will explain the options and help you decide what’s right for your home.

    • Bedroom in pale grey with floor to ceiling pleat curtains in soft white fitted above a wide window with built in unit in grey to the right and a bed with soft silver bedding.

      Pencil pleat curtains

This traditional style has a relaxed feel with maximum fabric folds to help create a dark environment.

    • A cozy, eclectic dining area opens up to a lush garden through a large sliding glass door. On the left, a wooden dining table is adorned with natural decor including dried flowers, woven baskets, and pottery. A black chair with a dark fur throw sits at the table. Light grey wave-patterned curtains partially cover the glass door. On the right, a side table holds potted plants, books, and a sculptural lamp with a woven shade.

      Wave curtains

A modern look that provides floor to ceiling coverage for maximum darkness.

    • Dining room with cream walls, wooden floor, wooden dining table and chairs with grey cups and saucers, chartreuse jug and earthenware vase with yellow flowering twigs and French doors dressed in pinch pleat curtains with a chartreuse frond leaf pattern on a cream background.

      Pinch pleat curtains

A tailored header style that fits precisely. This means a little light could creep through where the curtains meet.

    • A modern bedroom with a minimalist, cozy design features a black metal bed frame with white and neutral-toned bedding, accented by textured cushions and a green throw. To the right, a large window is dressed with dark grey faux wood Venetian blinds and full-length curtains in a soft, patterned fabric.

      Eyelet curtains

A simple choice with a neat appearance. To avoid light creeping through the eyelets we’d recommend fitting this curtain style higher than other options.

    Tips for blackout curtains

It’s possible for a small amount of light to creep around the edges of your blackout curtains. Choose a track, which fits snugly against the wall, for the best results.

If total darkness is important to you, think about layering with a blackout blind.

Layer blackout curtains with sheer blinds or voile Roman blinds or curtains for daytime privacy.

Blackout curtains have thermal properties so can help keep your room warmer too.

Close blackout curtains on hot sunny summers to help keep your room cool.

Buy once, buy well and you’ll save in the long run

All our blinds, curtains and shutters are made to measure and we’ll fit them for a finish that won’t need adjusting or replacing for years to come.

    Questions on our curtains?

See answers to our most popular questions about blackout curtains below. If you can’t find what you're looking for, see all of our FAQs here.

Do blackout curtains help control heat?

Yes, our blackout curtains have thermal properties too. During the winter months, blackout curtains can help to reduce heat loss through your windows and keep your home cosier. In summer, blackout curtains can help to keep your home cooler, by reducing the amount of heat that enters through your windows. You can add a blackout lining or thermal lining to any of our gorgeous made-to-measure curtains. For an extra snug feel, you could team blackout or thermal curtains with made-to-measure blinds.

    Can you wash blackout curtains?

All of our curtain fabrics are dry clean only, but there are plenty of ways to keep your blackout curtains fresh for longer. The easiest way to clean your blackout curtains is to use the soft brush attachment of your vacuum cleaner, designed for furniture and upholstery.
A hand held steam cleaner can also be used to remove any creases or wrinkles. Our curtains cleaning guide contains more handy hints on caring for your blackout curtains.
