Since having @hillarysblinds blackout blinds fitted Larry seems to be sleeping more during the day. He can’t tell if I haven’t opened the curtains bless him. 🤣 I’m so glad I opted for the blackout lining which provides energy efficiency benefits by reducing heat loss but also helps with noise control. The layering of the Venetian blinds with the heavy curtains has created such a cosy feel, yet still allows for complete light control during the day. Did you know tilting your Venetian blinds upwards is the most effective way to keep heat in too!

A smart window seat definitely calls for a smart blind in my opinion! Our @hillarysblinds advisor helped us determine the best style for the space and we opted for a motorised day and night blind that we upgraded to smart so that it can simply be controlled by a click of a button or through an app. It’s an absolute game changer and helps to make our busy mornings run far more smoothly... It really is why Hillarys is the wise choice!

I had been stuck with what to choose and also didn’t have the time to sort it out but @hillarysblinds made it super simple… I chose fabric samples I liked from the website, then arranged for Michael, my local advisor to come and show me all the different options and measure up… we picked a gorgeously textured Abigail Ahern fabric and Michael then suggested adding a trim to the bottom edge, I chose black to pick out the other black accents in the room. I also chose a thick interlining to keep the room cosy as we have single glazed windows. As this is a busy room and the window is behind the table Michael suggested going for a smart blind that can be operated remotely - genius idea! Michael was then back a few weeks later to put the finished blind up, this is a job I hate doing so very happy not to be up the ladder with a drill! And there you have it, no fuss, no stress, just a gorgeously dressed window, don’t know why I didn’t do it sooner!!

Ziggy loves spending time in his favourite spot in the spare room. He enjoys basking in the afternoon sun but sometimes it gets a little bit too warm for him. Our @hillarysblinds Roman blind helps to keep him cool so that he can just carry on napping. Sleeping is definitely one of his favourite things to do, along with eating😂

Well the lack of light today clearly makes a difference 🌧, but the rainy day has got one area of DIY almost finished, I’m hiding out in here while Alex is finishing painting the hallway...white of course 🙈😂....Ive probably said this before but I’m pretty sure we’ll never paint colour on our walls, although I do like the idea of block shapes, we’re slowly but surely adding colour in different ways and just going with the flow! . New kitchen blind 💚 We lived without a blind in this window for 8 months!! We did originally order a blind but then the company messed up (a small local company) we then went on the hunt for a new blind but it took us a while to find something we really liked as annoyingly nothing compared to the first blind we actually chose. After going through all the local companies I decided to get @hillarysblinds to do a home visit, I honestly thought they would be over priced but they were actually give or take the same as the local companies and they offer FREE fitting a lot of the local companies charged £15/20 so we actually made a saving! The consultant and fitter were actually husband and wife and they were so lovely I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. Today's prompts were easy - my record holders make it dead easy to display my faves in prime position. And it's a flight of fancy, but I would kill to see Bowie again (@isleofwightfest 2004: I am so grateful for you). BEFORE AND AFTER - oiling our decking. 🌿 When we moved into the house the decking was looking very tired and worn. We debated ripping this up and replacing for slabs, but decided to opt for a cheaper option this year and oil what we had. I’m so pleased with the outcome. All great changes are preceded by chaos. - Deepak Chopra While renovations are ongoing, I thought I'd share a glimpse of the living space after making a few subtle changes. Window treatment - There were previously black-out roller blinds in the bay window which either blocked the sunlight from filling the room when partially closed or failed to provide sufficient privacy when fully open. These faux wooden venetian blinds from @hillarysblinds really compliment the bay as they provide the required privacy whilst also allowing natural sunlight to filter through.
